As the trip draws nearer (one week!) – I’ve gone into preparation mode. My travel minis are safely tucked into their bubble-wrapped haven and my on-the-go toothbrush is locked & loaded. As with my carry-on, I’m keeping my beauty routine simple. That doesn’t mean that I don’t want to take care of it as it suffers from jet lag, stress & sun. I’ve followed S.W. Basics for quite some time without purchasing anything. I blame it on my minimilast nature. I already have a face wash / exfoliant / moisturizer…why would I need more? But when I received an e-mail alerting me of a sale on minis… I jumped on it, because now I needed it.
A little aside about my skin. It’s hella sensitive. New products usually piss it off. It actually prefers that I be conservative about washing my face at all. It’s not perfect, but I’m able to forgo full coverage most days.
First of all, the packaging is so cute! The glass is very sturdy & I’m confident they’ll survive the suitcase. Each product has less than five ingredients and I recognized all of them. I could probably make them (I won’t). Initially I had planned to open these once the trip began, but I just couldn’t help myself! And I love them and I want more/full-sizes! I didn’t snag a make-up remover, which is where my Burt’s Bees sensitive wipes come in. Seriously the only brand I’ve found that doesn’t cause my skin to burn. Anywho – the cleanser is very gentle, and because it’s applied with cotton round, I can tell you it does remove foundation, dirt & oil. I’ve only used the exfoliant twice and plan to do it 2x a week. None of these products “sud” so the application feels odd at first, but my face was so soft after that it didn’t matter. The cream is a bit heavy for daytime so I’m treating it as a night cream. There is a definite glow immediately after that I’m really digging.
Definitely check them out if you have sensitive skin/preference for all-natural products!
If you haven’t seen me lately…. my hair is grey. Shout out to Wes at Dolce Salon in Bee Caves for my do! Technically it starts out blue and then the more I wash it, the lighter it gets. To slow down the fading and protect it from harsh water, sun & the beast that is brassiness – I’ve packed little containers full of Kevin Murphy Blonde Angel. If I feel the color is fading too quickly, reapplying the stain (Chromasilk Silver) is an option. I’d like to avoid sticking my head under a hostel faucet, so I’ll also bring along my savior aka dry shampoo. You know what I’m sayin ladies?
I’ll also be putting together a list of supplements & exercise equipment that I’ll be bringing along, but the majority of my workouts will involve zero equipment and can be done anywhere at anytime. Be sure to subscribe to Team DNA Fitness on Youtube to see what I come up with! The final (and hardest) step will be documented next week. How does one fit a month’s worth of blog worthy outfits in a suitcase that I could fill for a sleepover!? We shall see…
TO BE CONTINUED (Pokemon music)
Burt’s Bees sensitive skin wipes are everything! I prefer wipes in general because I hate making a mess scrubbing my face off in the sink! I also love your plain old Cetaphil gentle cleanser because I can use it with or without water. 😉 which dry shampoo do you prefer?
SW Basics actually just posted an article on their blog about how Cetaphil is filled with parabens and nothing natural! ? And I loveeee Batiste, it’s my one & only.
