Back in September, Nic and I celebrated our marriage in a way that, while not traditional, was completely authentic to us. We invited 30 of our closest friends and family to Amsterdam to celebrate our recent wedding in Iceland. While this took quite a bit of planning on my part [booking several private hostel rooms for the “youngsters”, helping others with their travel plans and booking a private “Canal Cruise” so our group could all come together and party in true Dutch fashion — I truly loved every second of it and is what spurred me to purse trip planning.
When people ask “What’s your favorite place?” I don’t have an immediate answer, because every trip has served its own purpose and every place has its own draw. For Nic and I, Amsterdam is where we would live if we were to move abroad. And if you were wondering my complete answer to that question: Iceland is my favorite place for natural wonder, and Rio de Janeiro has my favorite beach and culture. On our first trip to Amsterdam in 2015, we found ourselves wishing that “so and so” was there us, which then turned into us listing all of the people we thought would enjoy it. Me being the travel pusher that I am, conjured the idea to have our “Co-Bachelor/ette” party there whenever that time came. When I got home from that trip in 2015, I immediately started spreading the word for people to start saving their $$. I’m not sure if anyone took me seriously, but I guess I know have the right to say “I told you so.”

This guide is a bit unique considering it is the product of roughly 30 people’s input! In anticipation of the trip, I created a Facebook group and invited every person that I thought would have an interest in coming. Per my type-A personality, I created a Google spreadsheet with all of the need to know information and a rough itinerary. However, I never wanted anyone to feel like I was making them to conform to MY trip. I wanted everyone to explore their own interests and leave feeling fulfilled rather than muttering “Wow,
